About the Review
The Review was conducted by the Department of Premier and Cabinet on behalf of the Premier in consultation with key stakeholders, including the NSW Electoral Commission.
Submissions were invited from:
- the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)
- the author of each submission made in 2015 on the Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) for the Lobbying of Government Officials (Code of Conduct) Regulation 2014 (the Regulation)
- all registered lobbyists.
The department concluded that the Act’s objectives remain valid and that the terms of the Act remain broadly appropriate for securing the Act’s objectives. However, there is scope to improve the efficacy of lobbying regulation in NSW.
