The White House

We are excited to hear that the White House is setting up a Social and Behavioral Science Team, headed by Maya Shankar, that will use lessons from psychology and behavioural economics in the design of public policy. Time Magazine recently released an article 'Nudge' Back in Fashion at White House which outlines that the United States follows in the footsteps of the UK's BIT in setting up a 'nudge unit', and joins other governments such as Canada, France, Singapore and NSW in applying behavioural science to policy making and service delivery.

To read more, including some of the social issues that have attracted their attention, Richard Thaler (Professor of Economics and Behavioral Science, and co-author of Nudge) has written a great article Public Policies, Made to Fit People.
