White Ribbon Day 25 November

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - also known as White Ribbon Day - is marked on 25 November each year. Everyone, particularly men, is urged to wear a White Ribbon on that day to symbolize support for the elimination of violence against women.

White Ribbon Day is part of 16 Days of Activism to Stop Violence Against Women which runs every year from 25 November to 10 December. It is a campaign to raise awareness of violence against women, and encourage individuals and communities to take action to help make the lives of women safer.

The Office for Women’s Policy supports White Ribbon Day and 16 Days of Activism to Stop Violence Against Womenby providing grants to Local Domestic and Family Violence Committees to assist them with activities during the campaign.

This year, the Violence Prevention Coordination Unit, located in the Office for Women’s Policy, Department of Premier and Cabinet is hosting a calendar of local, regional and state-wide campaign activities.
