• Always ask permission from your parents or carer before you give anyone on the Internet your name or address or any other personal details. This includes the name of your school, your photo or any personal information about your friends and family.
• If someone says something that is rude or they make you feel uncomfortable - don't respond and leave the chat room straight away.
• Tell your parents or another adult you trust if you see language that is upsetting, nasty pictures or something scary. Mum and dad might not know as much about the Internet as you, but they can still help you.
• People don't always tell the truth about themselves online. Someone could say they are a 14 year old girl when they really are a 50 year old man.
• Always ask a parent or a carer before buying anything online
