The Classroom

Kids

Hi, this is our classroom. We put it together to try and help you get to information on government and communities a little quicker and easier.

We've included information on flags and emblems, about government – including its levels, elections and structure as well as people and communities.

We've also spent a day with some pretty great people to see what things they do at work.

This is only the beginning, by telling us what you find useful and what you don't like we can improve the site. Remember to check the being web smart section and ask a parent or teacher before sending an email.

Parents

The classroom has been developed to assist students in years 4,5 and 6 learn more about:

• How Government works
• Flags and State emblems
• People and communities in NSW
• Work people do in the public sector.

Most of this information sits within a number of areas in the K-6 Human Society and its Environment Syllabus.

We have also included a general section on safe surfing on the web. The tips are useful for both children, parents and carers. We also provide some handy links to websites that deal specifically with safety on the Internet.

Teachers
