Showcasing Excellence in NSW

The Premiers Public Sector Awards formally recognise and reward outstanding performance and achievement by the New South Wales public sector. They:

• Encourage continual improvement of systems and services to enable resources to be better focused on effective delivery of services
• Encourage sector wide reflection on performance levels achieved and motivate individuals and teams to look at improving the way they work and deliver their services
• Recognise success and promote excellence that can lead to the continual renewal and improvement of services, projects and practices
• Promote the adoption of excellent business and management practices that can lead to the development and growth of a culture of continual improvement, innovation, reform and change.

Nominations are now invited for 2009 and have been called for through Circular 2009-29, correspondence to CEOs of all public sector agencies and the Public Sector Notices. 

The closing date for entries is Friday, 11 September 2009.

The following documents describe the process for the 2009 Premier's Public Sector Awards.  Agencies are asked to disseminate this information widely within their organisations.

New categories have been developed for 2009:

• Leading Change
• Delivering Services
• Engaging with the Community
• Project Delivery Making it Happen
• Succeeding Through Innovation
• Premiers Priority Category Ensuring Jobs in NSW.

Nominations reflecting the work of small and large organisations and individuals and teams are invited.

All NSW public sector agencies and services are eligible to apply:

• Departments
• Authorities
• Government Trading Enterprises
• Commissions
• Boards
• State Owned Corporations.
