Position Coding Automated Tool (PCAT)
PCAT is a human resource web tool developed by the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. It was developed to assist agencies apply the position code that became an item on the annual NSW Public Sector Workforce Profile Data Collection from 2002. PCAT was updated in 2007 to split the code into Position Code and ANZSCO Code. These codes became two separate items in both the quarterly and annual NSW Public Sector Workforce Profile Data Collections from June 2007.
Agencies use PCAT to apply the codes to ALL new and amended positions. PCAT generates an output report at the end of the inquiry which provides the codes. Agencies can print the report as the coding record.
