Rates of Pay
The rates of pay within the NSW Government vary according to the level of responsibility associated with the role and the type of agency for which the person is employed. Police, fire brigade officers and teachers, for example, have their own Awards and are therefore classified separately to an administrative role in a Department.

Incremental progression through classifications (i.e. increases in pay) is in accordance with the relevant award.
