The twelfth annual Premier's Public Sector Awards were presented on Thursday, 13 November 2008 by the Honourable Nathan Rees MP, Premier of New South Wales, at the Verbruggen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

A record one hundred and seventy nine nominations were received from thirty-seven agencies across New South Wales.

Forty-eight Awards covering four levels of achievement - gold, silver, bronze and commendation - were presented to projects of excellence.

A Small Agency Innovation Award was introduced across all categories as an equity measure for small agencies for the first time in 2008. The most outstanding State Plan related project across all categories was again awarded.

The winning projects reflected the importance of identified need, innovation, outcomes and future scope.
