Showcasing Excellence in NSW

The Premiers Public Sector Awards formally recognise and reward outstanding performance and achievement by the New South Wales public sector. They:

• Encourage continual improvement of systems and services to enable resources to be better focused on effective delivery of services
• Encourage sector wide reflection on performance levels achieved and motivate individuals and teams to look at improving the way they work and deliver their services
• Recognise success and promote excellence that can lead to the continual renewal and improvement of services, projects and practices
• Promote the adoption of excellent business and management practices that can lead to the development and growth of a culture of continual improvement, innovation, reform and change.

New categories have been developed for 2009:

• Leading Change
• Delivering Services
• Engaging with the Community
• Project Delivery Making it Happen
• Succeeding Through Innovation
• Premiers Priority Category Ensuring Jobs in NSW.

Nominations reflect the work of small and large organisations and individuals and teams. All NSW public sector agencies and services are eligible to apply; Departments, Authorities, Government Trading Enterprises, Commissions, Boards and State Owned Corporations.

Nominations are now closed for 2009

Review panels for each category will assess and competitively rank nominations and forward recommendations to an overarching judging panel. The judging panel will make final recommendations to the Premier.

The Awards presentation ceremony will be held on Thursday, 26 November 2009 with representatives from each nomination invited to attend. Details of awarded nominations are kept confidential until night.
