2005 Premier's Public Sector Awards
Showcasing Excellence in NSW
The Premier's Public Sector Awards formally recognise and reward the achievement of excellence by the New South Wales public sector. They acknowledge projects and initiatives which have produced measurable outcomes, with proven results and benefits to the people of New South Wales. Sustainability, adaptability and a team approach are integral to these projects.
The ninth annual Premier's Public Sector Awards were presented on 4 November 2005 by the Honourable Morris Iemma MP, Premier and Treasurer of New South Wales, at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Verbrugghen Hall.

110 nominations were received this year from 31 agencies across New South Wales. Thirty-two Awards covering four levels of achievement - gold, silver, bronze and commendation - were presented to projects of excellence in eight categories:
- Business, Management and Financial Performance
- Community Development
- Information and Communications Technology
- Service Delivery
- Services to Rural/Regional NSW
- Social Justice
- The Environment and Natural Resources
- Workforce Development
The winning projects reflected the importance of innovation, strategic thinking, teamwork and effective inter-agency and inter-sector collaboration and partnerships. The broad range of project areas included healthcare, education and training, resource management and conservation, online technology reform, community development, social justice, regional development and workforce development.
