Public Sector Management Program
The Public Sector Management Program is a 12 to 15 months university program. Participants receive a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University on graduation.
The comprehensive curriculum focuses on four units:
- Managing Up: The Framework of Public Sector Management
- Managing Out: The Public Sector in the Community
- Managing In: Ethics and Career Management in the Public Sector
- Managing Down: Operational Management in the Public Sector
Participants are from the three levels of government in NSW – Commonwealth, State and Local public sectors. Classes are held in the Sydney central business district.

The target group is current or potential middle managers (eg. from Grade 7/8 to Grade 9/10 in State government).
Classes commence in the first and second half of the year. Course details and enrolment timeframes are sent to the three levels of government by the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Enrolment is online. Fees are met by agencies.
The program is managed by the Institute of Public Administration Australia, NSW Division, on behalf of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
