Employees in the NSW public sector have varied allowance provisions according to the legislation and industrial award or agreement that applies to the type of job and employing agency.

Public Service Groups
The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 2009 contains provisions under Allowances and other matters: cls 34 – 52. Common allowances include:
