Program Structure

Secondments occur over a period of six weeks. This includes an induction, a five week project period and debriefing and evaluation sessions.

Secondments are arranged into four rounds across eight regions, as indicated by the Jawun Map. DPC and Treasury have committed to supporting secondments to the following three regions:

  • Ngaanyatjarra Pitjanjatjara Yankunytatjara(NPY) Lands (generally Alice Springs based)
  • Inner Sydney (Redfern and La Perouse)
  • Central Coast (100km north of Sydney's CBD)

During the 3 – 5 day induction, secondees may experience bush camping and in remote regions attend an off-road driver awareness course. Secondees have the opportunity to be involved in cultural ceremonies, meet local elders and experience the local communities. Regardless of the region, overnight stay for the duration of the induction is compulsory.
