the memorial design

The memorial design was selected by a limited design competition run by the NSW Government Architect’s Office. The winning competition entry was submitted by Jane Cavanough (Artlandish Art and Design) and Pod Landscape Architecture.

Following the competition the NSW Government Architect’s Office and the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust have been working with the designers through the design development phase of the project to ensure public safety and maintenance issues have been addressed.

A consultation process was conducted with local residents, Veterans and the Korean community to gain feedback on the memorial.

The City of Sydney Council, the Heritage Branch of the NSW Department of Planning, and the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust each have a planning approval role in the memorial design.
