Phase 2 "go live"
We are pleased to announce the go live of Phase 2 on Friday 30 October 2009 involving our four pilot agencies; Corrective Services, Premier and Cabinet, Services Technology & Administration and WorkCover.
Thank you and congratulations to all members of the Pilot Agency Working Group and to your project teams and recruitment staff for the commitment and support over the past 12 months to the NSW Government's e-Recruitment project.

Phase 3 "kick off"

jobs.nsw Website Launched
We are pleased to announce on Friday 9 October, 2009 the launch of the new jobs.nsw website (www.jobs.nsw.gov.au). The new website has a totally fresh new look and feel and contemporary and secure functionality.

Getting Ready for Phase 2 "go live"
There are six phases to the overall deployment of the e-Recruitment system, the launch of the new jobs.nsw website involved all NSW Government agencies changing over to the new website.
Phase 2 comprises of four pilot agencies - Corrective Services, Premier and Cabinet, Technology and Administration and WorkCover. These agencies have recently completed the analysis and design work associated with the full end to end recruitment system and recently completed User Acceptance Testing.

Phase 2 Workshops
Workshops are being conducted between 5 and 25 August 2009 with Phase 2 Pilot Agency participants (Commerce, Corrective Services, Premier and Cabinet, and WorkCover) to validate external and internal recruitment processes, metrics and correspondence in preparation for the full end to end e-Recruitment system implementation in October 2009

Phase 1 Training News
Phase 1 training commences in August. The training will be in two sectors with agency trainers, recruiters and super users receiving face to face workshops; and case managers receiving self paced learning available on line.

e-Recruitment System Testing
During July extensive User Acceptance Testing was carried out for the Phase 1 functionality. The e-Recruitment Team coordinated the testing with agency stakeholders. The testing involved assessing the system across all Phase 1 functionality in readiness for the go live.

Phase 1 Training
Phase 1 training is currently being coordinated and those involved will be part of an exciting new chapter in job recruitment for the NSW public sector.
Phase 1 will allow government employees and external candidates to have improved access to on-line services through the new jobs.nsw website, a brand new website that will revolutionise the way people find jobs in NSW Government.
We are working to bring Phase 1 forward and the e-Recruitment system will be rolled out in six phases across the sector between October 2009 and December 2010.

Taleo Appointment
NSW Government underwent an extensive and comprehensive tender evaluation process, done in accordance with the State Contracts Control Board regulations, to ensure the most appropriate product was selected for the e-Recruitment system.
Taleo Corporation has been appointed to provide the e-Recruitment system for NSW Government. Taleo has a proven track record in providing e-Recruitment systems to organisations of the size and complexity of NSW Government.

Briefing Day
On Wednesday May 20 a briefing day was held at the State Library of NSW to enable representatives from 32 Phase 3 agencies to receive an e-Recruitment overview, plus information on the functionality of the new e-Recruitment system and the strategic HR opportunities.
Case studies were presented by two pilot agencies, Corrective Services and WorkCover. Janene Browning from Workcover presented a case study on engaging and interacting with their client agencies throughout the implementation of the e-Recruitment system. Judy Windle from Corrective Services then presented a case study highlighting the strategic opportunities of the e-Recruitment system implementation.

Phase 1 Data Collection
Phase 1 involves changing over to the new jobs.nsw website which will have a fresh new look and feel as well as functionality designed to replicate current functionality. On 14 April 2009 all current jobs.nsw agencies were contacted to provide data for the set up of Phase 1 implementation. The data collection is designed to obtain information on users, organisation structure and locations and will form the foundation for future data collection.

Deployment Strategy
In the past month HR representatives from all agencies have been contacted to endorse the allocated deployment phase for their agency. The quick response and support received to this request was very encouraging with all agencies now confirmed in the deployment strategy.

Deployment planning
The NSW Government e-Recruitment solution will be rolled out across the sector between October 2009 and December 2010. To help NSW government agencies plan for this implementation a deployment strategy has been developed and distributed to all agencies HR representatives. There are six phases to the overall deployment of the e-Recruitment system.

Pilot Working Group update
On March 2 representatives from pilot agencies attended a capability framework workshop, hosted by the e-Recruitment team and facilitated by the Department of Premier and Cabinet, designed specifically to address practical issues in using the framework with the e-Recruitment system. Over the past month the pilot agency working group has endorsed the terms of reference, project charter, implementation project plan, stakeholder identification and system configuration workshop schedule.

New jobs.nsw visual branding and website design
- The e-Recruitment team has commenced work with the web developer to develop a fresh new look and feel for visual branding and website design. There will be extensive focus group testing of the new website design.

Tender evaluation
Tenders to provide the e-Recruitment solution are now being evaluated. The evaluation is done in accordance with State Contracts Control Board regulations. Ten international and Australian businesses met the January 27 deadline for tender submissions.

Working group action
The newly formed Pilot Agency Working Group meets fortnightly from February 18. The group is made up of representatives from the e-Recruitment pilot agencies, ServiceFirst, consultants PinPoint HRM, the successful vendor, and the e-Recruitment team.
- The objective of the Pilot Agency Working Group is to adopt a new operational and strategic focus to champion change in recruitment practices through the implementation of the e-Recruitment solution.

Access and equity
To help everyone across the community have better access to the NSW government's future online recruitment services, the e-Recruitment team is looking at innovations and practices that can be introduced or upgraded so that, for example, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those whose first language is not English, and people with disabilities or living in rural areas can take advantage of public sector employment opportunities.

e-Recruitment project online
The website for information on the e-Recruitment solution went live on January 21 2009.
It will be updated with news and progress.
Soon too this website will be the entry point for the e-Recruitment extranet.
The extranet will enable pilot agencies, the successful vendor and others critical to the project's success to log into their own site via the e-Recruitment homepage and work together online.
