Community Programmes - Links

The NSW Government has many community programmes. It provides a great deal of information concerning services and assistance provided to NSW communities. Information can be found at the NSW Government Website www.nsw.gov.au/Law.

A number of Government departments work closely with local area groups and task forces to address difficult issues facing communities. This approach to projects encourages local action teams such as those set up across the State to tackle issues like drugs and alcohol abuse. The problems and solutions are shared by everyone. 

At the Community Builders Website  you will find a great deal of useful information relating to communities. Much of this information is shared by participants in community activities about how they have addressed different issues facing their communities. The site also provides information on how the government is forging partnerships with communities around the state.

Often community based programmes involve multiple agencies and stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes. To enable improved planning and integration of services many of these programmes are coordinated through the Communities Division of the Department of Community Services. Details on these programmes can be found at www.community.nsw.gov.au.
