This Award sets out provisions relating to conditions of employment including working hours, leave, allowances, shiftwork and overtime. It should be read in conjunction with the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002 and the Public Sector Employment and Management Regulation 2009.

The Award applies to all officers, departmental temporary employees and casual employees as defined in the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002 (the Act), employed in Departments listed in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Act. It is effective on and from 28 May 2009 and remains in force until 30 June 2011.
