Special Commission of Inquiry into Sydney Ferries

The Special Commission of Inquiry into Sydney Ferries was established on 4 April 2007. The NSW Governor commissioned Mr Bret Walker SC to inquire into and report to the Governor on:

• the present state of Sydney Ferries provision of ferry services; and
• any action which should be taken to improve the ability of Sydney Ferries to provide safe, efficient and customer-focused ferry services.

The Report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into Sydney Ferries (PDF 1.1mb) was provided to the Governor at 5pm on 31 October 2007 and released by the Government on the morning of 1 November 2007.

Please note: From 20 November 2007 a revised version of the Final Report can be downloaded from this website.  The revised version of the Final Report, which was provided by the Special Commission of Inquiry, contains a number of minor formatting, editorial and typographical changes from the previous version of the document.
