How We Do It

Collaboration is the key to the work of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. We recognise that it often takes a whole of Government approach to innovate and to tackle difficult situations – that's when we're at our best.

We pull together the right agencies and the required resources to take on the more complex jobs. We coordinate the implementation of the State Plan across all agencies. We are the lead agency for a number of initiatives including customer service, community participation and volunteering, cutting red tape, prevention and early intervention. We partner with agencies to help deliver on a wide range of other State Plan priorities.

We also work towards developing quality customer service across all agencies in the public sector.  We assist  by developing guidelines for measuring performance, promoting best practice and by creating opportunities for agencies to work together. Using our offices located across the state, we are able to understand and respond to local issues.

The Department sets accountability standards for the public sector. It is essential that the Department's employees display the highest standards of conduct. Our code of conduct is currently under redevelopment.
